Medusa

I made this drawing through Adobe Illustrator, but the original drawing was made with pen so it's a mixture of both. I basically used the pen tool and the brush tool to give color to this piece. She is a monster from Greek Mythology who had living venomous snakes as place of hair. Those who glanced upon her face would turn to stone. I decided to make her face half a skull because Medusa is a mortal being, and it also symbolizes death. I also chose Angelina Jolie as my model because she is very beautiful, and her features catches people's attention which is the whole purpose.

Surreal/ Fantasy Project

Beautiful but Dangerous
I used Adobe Illustrator for this piece. Basically, I drew the rose and the snakes with the pen tool and the brush, and used the Gaussian blur for some of it. For the background, I placed an image and modified it by drawing the figures of the clouds and some values from the lake and then applying the Gaussian blur. I drew the thunder, the grass, and the stars with the brush tool. Overall, I really enjoyed doing this piece and the outcome of it. Because of practice, I think I'm getting better, and I want to learn more techniques.

Line Drawing Portrait

I made these portraits through Adobe Illustrator. First, I traced the face, ears, eyes, brows, and lips with the pen tool, and I drew most of her hair with the pen tool as well. Then, I drew some of her hair with the brush tool to make it more realistic. Also, I drew the butterfly with the pen tool and added some color, and I drew the butterfly's details with the brush tool. Secondly, I added some figures on the face as shadows with the pen tool. At first, I didn't know you could blur it, but then my teacher showed me how I could add that effect. Finally, I selected all the shadow figures and applied the gaussian blur in all of them, and it made it look more realistic. The last picture, which is my favorite of all, has the original drawing placed on the digital drawing. In conclusion, I enjoyed doing these portraits, even though it was challenging at first.

Eye

I made this eye through Adobe Illustrator. First, I opened a new white layer, and then I placed a picture of an eye on top of it. I started tracing some shapes from the eye with the pen tool and coloring those shapes according to the image of the eye. Finally, I used the pen tool to make the lines from the eyelashes. In this assignment I learned how to make shapes and lines and how to curve them. It was difficult and confusing at first, but I started getting better and the hang of it as I did it more and practiced.
